Dear Amrita,
Your quest to ensure justice for victims of Sikh riots by fighting with the 'upar se orders' of your higher officials at times made you an epitome of dauntless bravery.
Your authority as an IPS officer was questioned at your every failure to appease the needs of the government yet the way you efficiently handled every situation be it conversing with the victims to gathering evidence against the rioters your competence was a portrayal of your hardwork and dedication towards your job.Amrita standing on the cross roads of duty and family, the dilemma you faced when the dark past of your father got entwined with your investigation, anyone in your place would have gone through an identity crisis but the way you resisted every hurdle, searching for the truth going out of your way will embed you in our heart for your perseverance and grit.
Those moments of crisis when the truths about your father were divulging through the process of investigation and you were contemplating that your whole life is a lie, we could empathize with your agonised state. Amrita though you charged your father at times to confess the truth and initially lost your faith upon him ; you never gave up on him, you always believed in him and his innocence and witnessing this beautiful father-daughter relationship really overwhelmed us.
Amrita seeing your father getting arrested and you suspended for concealing the identity of your father as the lead rioter of 1984 broke our hearts, though in the eyes of law you have misled the investigation being its in-charge, we know the inner-strifes you had undergone as a daughter to convict your father, yet the way you coped up with such a tumultuous phase reflected your sheer tenacity.Your prowess as an IPS officer was evident in the scenes when being suspended you were carrying out your duties.
From resolving the misunderstandings among the people of Hind Nagar who were tempted through a mere whatsapp video towards riots by the hired goons of Chunnu aka Sanjay Singh to getting hold of Suresh(Chunnu's most trusted person), you have outdone yourself proving your allegiance towards your duty.Revelation of the truths revolving around the identity of you and your family in the court room that day, though turned your life topsy-turvy making you question your existence, but when you said, "I am proud of you papa" embracing him while bidding him goodbye it filled our eyes with tears of joy, witnessing the union of a father with his daughter breaking the wall of misunderstandings that separated them.Amrita, the day you said Chunnu, "Jis din apko pakadne aungi usdin wardi pehenke aungi" to arresting him on the day when you wore your uniform, the instances of your indomitable spirit will linger in our mind for a long time.
Being a souvenir of the horror that your mother endured to being single-handedly raised by your foster father Gurusevak aka Rishi and becoming an IPS officer, your journey indeed is inspirational teaching us how to fight with the challenges of life.We earnestly hope that you find the whole truth that led to riots and ensure justice to those devastated people who lost their loved ones in this power game of politics.~someone who urges you never to think of resigning from your post again and prays to see you and your father together after he is released from jail~
